6 Modern Technology to Control Aedes Mosquito

Mosquitoes are now the name of terror. Aedes Mosquitoes are the cause of many diseases like dengue, chikungunya, Zika and malaria. Scientists have been working for a long time to relieve from the mosquitoes and control mosquitoes. In the meantime they have invented several effective ways. Instead of sprinkling conventional insect killers, high-tech mosquito controller are using. So here is the list of 6 modern technology to control Aedes Mosquito:

Gene Editing Technology

Infectious diseases such as malaria or dengue can be cured by proper treatment. However, many times in developing countries, without proper medicines and proper treatment, they can have serious consequences. Realizing this, researchers at Johns Hopkins University have developed a special method for preventing mosquitoes. They have applied the CRISPR gene editing method to prevent malaria parasites. From the mosquito malaria gene is removed by the CRISPR or Cas9 gene editing method. They have already applied the experimental method. In it, they found that malaria parasites in aedes mosquito beds were destroyed before they reached harmful levels for humans. However, doubts arise about the application of this method. What if there is a bad result in applying such a gene editing method or the technology goes into the hands of a rogue? The question of controlling this technology will come up.

Photonic Fence

The use of mosquitoes is everywhere to protect against mosquitoes. But researchers have created a photonic mesh to control mosquitoes completely. This is basically a laser special fence. Much like the story of the movie, right? Special net-shaped laser rays are using to protect the mosquito. This is called ‘photonic fence’. At 2010, Nathan Myhrvold, chief technology officer at Ted Talk’s technology firm Microsoft, spoke of a photonic fence. This method is capable of killing or completely destroying a mosquito’s wings by means of a small power laser. Up to 99 percent of mosquitoes can die if they detect the mosquito by placing the device in their homes, institutions or offices. Although the issue was discussed nearly a decade ago, this method has not yet become prevalent. However, several companies have licensed the technology from Microsoft. The US Department of Commerce has also shown interest.

Mosquito Recognition App

Researchers at the University of Oxford are developing an app that can detect different species of mosquitoes using the machine learning method Acoustic. The app can accurately identify mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles. The mosquitoes of this species can spread malaria. Researchers claim that the success rate for the detection of anopheles mosquitoes through the app is 72 percent. To further expand this project, the research team is recording more and more high-quality mosquitoes sound, where up to 3.600 species of mosquitoes have been identified. Although it is not possible to eliminate aedes mosquito bites through this app, it will give you an idea about the potential mosquitoes.

Drone Dumping

What does it take to kill mosquitoes? If there were more mosquitoes to kill, what would it be? Robotic maker company Werobotics reported a strange concept that sounds strange. According to their proposal, disinfected mosquitoes will be located in certain mosquito-borne areas through drones. It will be possible to reduce the number of male mosquitoes by up to 90 percent. The company has already started experimenting with the use of drones to increase the number of mosquitoes with specialized bacteria to prevent mosquito spread.

Despite the deadly virus spreading from mosquitoes, the tiny creature can understand the prediction of major storms. Then they move away. With the electromagnetic signal it is possible to predict the storm in the mosquito brain. It provides temporary release from aedes mosquito bites. A company called NopixGo has developed a wristband capable of delivering such electromagnetic signals. The device they create produces weak waves, which signal the mosquito to the storm. The mosquitoes go away.

Killer Mosquitoes

When any invention is not working properly, the genetically killer mosquitoes can use to kill other mosquitoes. Meanwhile, US-based Kentucky biotech company ‘Mosquitomate’ has produced killer mosquitoes. In their project, male mosquitoes are created as insect pesticides. When these mosquitoes combine with female mosquitoes, mosquito eggs do not hatch. The US Environmental Protection Agency has officially been involved with the project over the past year. Many experiments have been conducted on this.

So be aware and keep neat and clean your around. Do not let water stay in a same place for long time. It can help to produce more misquotes. Share this to your friend and family if you think they should know this.
