Is it safe to use multiple antivirus in one PC?

Most of all computer users are familiar with the word “VIRUS”. Virus is basically a computer program. That identifies the unauthorized harmful software in user’s PC.

Over time, as computers have become more modern and powerful, the virus evolving as well. Many of us think  multiple antivirus may reduce the risk of data hacking. Let’s discuss today “Is it safe to use multiple antivirus?

Anti-virus software has been created to protect against harmful software. Anti-virus is also a program where instructions about virus are available. For this, the anti-virus to detect and deactivate the virus.

Windows operating system is one of the most vulnerable platforms for virus attacks due to its high users. Microsoft also developed their own anti-virus and security tool, “Windows Security Essentials”. While this may not work very well. They are giving Windows Defender anti-virus by default for Windows 10. It is quite modern and effective. Besides, various companies have come up with free and paid anti-virus for Windows PC.

Is it safe to use multiple antivirus or harmful?

Since anti-virus programs protect against malware or viruses as you know. But many new computer users will think that using more than one anti-virus may give the computer 100% protection. But the fact is not. In many cases, it can make the opposite effect.

If you use genuine Windows, Windows Defender is enough to protect you. If you keep updated the regular Windows Defender virus definition, you can be fairly comfortable with your PC. Windows’s default anti-virus is powerful enough now. But many experts feel that you do not need to use any third-party anti-virus.

If you use more than one anti-virus, you may face the following problems.

They may think of each other as 'viruses'

As anti-virus look after your PC, they are constantly monitoring your system’s information. They work to detect and destroy viruses. These anti-virus programs can treat each other very much like a virus.

In that case, one of your anti-virus may consider as another virus by another ‘anti-virus’. So, they may conflict with each other. As a result, you will get notifications multiple times and face interruption while using PC. Sometimes it can make the PC hang very badly which is very embarrassing.-

It can cause unnecessary cravings with the virus

Suppose you are using two anti-virus apps. The other problem that may occur is that when a virus is detected on the PC, those two anti-virus will detect the virus. Well, so far so good! But the worry is that if one anti-virus first inactivates that virus, another anti-virus will not know it immediately. It will still think that the virus was detected earlier and will give you a warning notification.

Even after scanning it again and removing the virus, the 2nd antivirus program will be useless. Because  it cannot find any trace of the virus that has just arrived in its database. And no one can do it on its own. This could also create an unstable situation on the PC.

Multiple Antivirus

It will reduce the performance of the computer

Since anti-virus programs are running all the time. They will at least occupy a small amount of space on your PC’s RAM. It also increases CPU usage. As a result the PC will look slower than normal. In addition, the laptop will discharge the battery faster.

W10 user must do

Windows 10 is Microsoft’s most modern operating system with powerful features. As I said earlier, keeping Windows Defender updated regularly allows you to stay safe. Even without installing any other (even premium) anti-virus program. But there’s no denying that there are many third-party paid anti-viruses that offer more features than Windows Defender.

So if you want to use Windows Defender as well as any other software. Some functions of Windows Defender must be discontinued. But, Windows 10 shut down the Windows Defender / Windows Security app when there another anti-virus program activated.

Simply, it’s not safe to use multiple anti-virus program at the same time. Microsoft itself does not support using more than one anti-virus program at the same time. Different anti-virus makers companies such as KasperskySymantec Era also have a negative opinion of using multiple antivirus at the same time.

Therefore, more than one anti virus software should not use at the same time. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comment section below.
